Clinical case: Breast cancer

19 February, 2019

A 51-year-old woman presented May 2016 infiltrating ductal carcinoma of the left breast. Magnetic resonance shows multiple and extensive confluent irregular foci, forming a mass of 79 mm x 52 mm x 58 mm that extends to the areola-nipple complex with infiltration of the dermis. In June 2016 begins chemotherapy with Paclitaxel and Trastuzumab. In August 2016 initiates oncothermia, sessions of 60 minutes. In October 2016, breast MRI was performed to control treatment after administration of 9 chemotherapy sessions and 6 sessions of oncothemia 60 minutes. The result of the magnetic resonance shows disappearance of the tumor mass indicating a complete response to the treatment. The patient rejects the surgical treatment since there is no tumor mass and she continues with radiological controls. In October 2018, the patient showed no signs of recurrence.
